Owner/Therapist Melissa Foster holds a master’s degree in social work. She has been a clinician for nearly 10 years and opened her practice in 2019. Prior to that, she worked in outpatient therapy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and in multiple community settings working with families. Melissa is a certified EMDR therapist and is also a consultant in training. This means she not only providers EMDR services to her clients but is also training to supervise other EMDR therapists.
As a therapist, I believe that life’s greatest challenges are best healed in a safe environment. Maybe you’ve struggled with “getting over” a toxic relationship or managing everyday life stresses. As a parent you may be struggling to understand your child or maybe your child is struggling with their identity. Or are you are tired of feeling like you don’t have your shit together? My work focuses on helping people overcome past and present hardships as well as creating the future they want. I believe in compassion, authenticity, skill, and a splash of humor.
I have strong passion for giving back to those who give so much; as well as their support people. For those who are stressed or burnt out, those who experience an on the job trauma, and anywhere in-between, it’s extremely important that you have a safe, soft place to land.
I specialize in working with members of the Queer (LGBQ+/TGNC) community who are interested in making changes and developing insight. I welcome people of all identities and backgrounds.
I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in my practice- a tool for processing overwhelming or traumatic memories and other difficulties.
